ITINERARY
DAY 01 LONDON
Arrival in London. Welcome and transfer to the hotel. London, the capital of England and the United Kingdom, is a 21st-century city with a history dating back to Roman times. At its center stand the imposing Houses of Parliament, the iconic clock tower “Big Ben” and Westminster Abbey, the site of Britain’s monarchical coronations. Overnight stay.
DAY 02 LONDON
Breakfast. Morning sightseeing tour of London by coach, visiting Westminster, Kensington, Mayfair and Belgravia. We will stop to photograph the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye, the Royal Albert Hall and the Albert Memorial. We will also see the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (provided it operates on that day). We will visit the West End (theatres and restaurants area), Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square, and very representative cultural areas such as: the Natural History Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Science Museum and the National Gallery. This tour will end at Buckingham Palace at around 11:45am and you will have the rest of the day at leisure in London to discover more about this magnificent city. In the evening, on the other side of the River Thames, you will have the chance to go on the London Eye, which offers unrivalled views of this cosmopolitan city. Accommodation.
DAY 03 LONDON – CAMBRIDGE – YORK – DURHAM – NEWCASTLE
Breakfast. We leave London and head north to the university city of Cambridge. On a walking tour you can admire architecture from different periods in the ancient University Colleges. We continue our tour to the city of York, where we will have time for a short walk through its charming streets and see its splendid cathedral, the largest in Northern Europe. Our next stop is the historic city of Durham, known for its wonderful cathedral and also for its castle, which is protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Overnight.
DAY 04 NEWCASTLE – DURHAM – ALNWICK – EDINBURGH
After breakfast, we will head north towards Alnwick Castle, an impressive castle with hundreds of years of history and the official residence of the Dukes of Northumberland, where we will have a panoramic tour. We will see the sets where famous films such as Harry Potter, Elizabeth and Robin Hood were filmed. We will continue our route along the coast until we reach Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, where we will have lunch and a panoramic tour of this illustrious city. The capital of Scotland is known for its famous Royal Mile, an avenue that connects Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. In the evening you will have the possibility to participate in a Scottish dinner with typical Scottish folklore (optional). Overnight stay.
DAY 05 EDINBURGH – STIRLING – TROSSACHS – GLASGOW
Breakfast. Free time in the morning to visit the streets and museums of Edinburgh. At midday we will depart for a visit to the Trossachs Natural Park, enjoying the splendid scenery passing through Stirling, Callander and the half-mountain passes. We will also visit a whisky distillery where you can learn about the whisky production process and taste the famous Scottish national drink. We will arrive in the third largest city in the UK: Glasgow. Here you will find Buchanan Street, well known for its Victorian architecture as well as its shops. In Glasgow we will have a sightseeing tour before arriving at the hotel. Overnight stay.
DAY 06 GLASGOW – BELFAST – DUBLIN
Desayuno. Saldremos de Glasgow y cogeremos un barco para cruzar aguas irlandesas hasta llegar a Belfast, capital de Irlanda del Norte. Aquí realizaremos un recorrido panorámico por la ciudad y conoceremos su pasado, para comprender mejor su presente. Descubrirá cómo se llamaban David y Goliat y verá Cave Hill, que inspiró a Jonathan Swift a escribir «Gulliver in Dwarf Country». También pasarás por los murales pintados y comprenderás las diferencias entre los barrios protestante y católico. Descubrirás el Titanic Quarter, donde visitaremos el impresionante museo dedicado a recrear la historia del Titanic, y tendremos tiempo libre para almorzar. Pasaremos por las Montañas de Mourne para llegar por la tarde a Dublín, capital de la República de Irlanda, donde realizaremos un recorrido panorámico por la ciudad. Visitaremos las principales atracciones: la Aduana, el Castillo de Dublín y el Parque Fénix y descubriremos por qué las puertas de la ciudad están pintadas de diferentes colores. También pasaremos por el Trinity College y la catedral protestante de San Patricio.
DAY 07 DUBLIN – CLONMACNOISE – ATHLONE – GALWAY
After breakfast we will travel to the West of Ireland. We will visit Clonmacnoise Monastery, founded by St. Ciaran in the 4th century and situated on the River Shannon. We will pass through Athlone where we will have free time for lunch. We will continue our journey to the city of Galway known as the “City of Tribes”. Here we will take a panoramic walking tour of the streets of Galway including the Spanish Arch, the Protestant Church and Lynch Castle. You will also learn why the famous Irish pubs were born. You will see the last Catholic Cathedral erected in Ireland in 1965. Galway has such a special atmosphere that you will want to come back! You will also have free time to wander around its charming shopping center. Overnight stay.
DAY 08 GALWAY – CLIFFS OF MOHER – LIMERICK – CORK
Después del desayuno dejaremos atrás el condado de Galway y viajaremos hacia el sur hasta los Acantilados de Moher. Primero cruzaremos «El Burren», que en gaélico significa Tierra Rocosa, una importante franja de tierra caliza protegida por la UNESCO frente al Atlántico. Los Acantilados de Moher, a 200 metros sobre el nivel del mar y 8 km de longitud, nos darán una sensación de libertad. A continuación nos desplazaremos hasta la ciudad de Limerick, donde tendremos tiempo libre para pasear por las calles y almorzar. Continuaremos nuestro camino hacia el condado de Cork, «El Valle del Oro» con sus espectaculares paisajes, rica cultura y gastronomía, y un patrimonio histórico que rivaliza con otras ciudades importantes de Irlanda. La producción de cebada convirtió a Cork en uno de los principales productores de whisky del país. Realizaremos un recorrido panorámico por la ciudad de Cork pasando por sitios como la Iglesia de Santa Ana Shandon, el Reloj Mentiroso y la Catedral Protestante de San Finbar. DAY 09 CORK – CASHEL ROCK – DUBLIN
After breakfast we will go to the Rock of Cashel, a pre-Norman fortress, which was ceded to ecclesiastical power and is linked to local mythologies of St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Here, in 1647, the massacre of 3,000 people under the troops of Oliver Cromwell took place. We will have free time to photograph the impressive fortress and stroll through the streets. We will continue to Dublin where we will arrive for lunch and you will have the rest of the afternoon free to enjoy the city. This will be the last opportunity on the tour to do some shopping on Irish soil. Overnight in Dublin.
DAY 10 DUBLIN – CONWY – LIVERPOOL
Temprano en la mañana desayunaremos y luego partiremos hacia el puerto de Dublín para abordar el ferry que cruzará el Mar de Irlanda hacia Gales. Antes de llegar a la hermosa ciudad de Conwy, haremos una breve parada en Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllllllantysiliogoggooch para tomar una foto en el cartel de Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllllllllantysiliogoggooch. Este pueblo de la isla de Anglesey tiene el topónimo más largo del Reino Unido y el tercero más largo del mundo. El nombre, que consta de 58 letras, significa «Iglesia de Santa María en el hueco del avellano blanco, cerca de un remolino veloz e Iglesia de San Tisilius cerca de la gruta roja». Posteriormente tendremos tiempo para visitar y almorzar en el bonito pueblo medieval de Conwy, Patrimonio de la Humanidad, donde tendremos la oportunidad de visitar su espléndido castillo (opcional). Continuaremos nuestra ruta hacia Liverpool para realizar un recorrido turístico. Esta ciudad es la cuna de la famosa banda de rock ‘The Beatles’ y Capital Europea de la Cultura en 2008. Liverpool también cuenta con uno de los puertos más grandes de Inglaterra. Por la noche visitaremos el legendario Cavern Club, el club donde tocaron los Beatles y todas las grandes estrellas del rock.
DAY 11 LIVERPOOL – STRATFORD – COTSWOLDS – OXFORD – LONDON
Breakfast. Our tour will take us to Stratford-Upon-Avon, a charming town on the banks of the River Avon and the birthplace of the playwright William Shakespeare. We will have a short sightseeing tour and free time for lunch. We continue through the picturesque villages of the Cotswolds to the university city of Oxford, where we take a short walking tour to admire its magnificent colleges. From Oxford we will head for London where we will arrive around 18.00 hrs. Overnight stay.
DAY 12 LONDON
Breakfast. Free time in London until transfer to London Heathrow airport for your return flight. End of services.
