DAY 01 SAN JOSE

Flight to the city of San José. Welcome to Costa Rica! Our staff will be ready to welcome you cordially and transfer you to your hotel. Accommodation in San Jose. OPTIONAL: Traditional tour of the city, tour of the main sites of the city of San José and visit to the craft store. Or, our new VIP City tour.

 

DAY 02 SAN JOSÉ – QUADRICYCLES AND ZIPLINE IN VISTA LOS DREAMS

Enjoy the first part of the day of an exciting canopy tour in a transition forest between the North Pacific and the Central Pacific of Costa Rica, where you will experience the adventure of 13 platforms and 8 cables located in gigantic oak trees. First take a small guided walk in the forest where your adventure will begin through trails and waterfalls on the way there will be bottled water and tropical fruits. Next, the guide will give all the safety instructions, as well as the handling instructions. Once you learn all about the vehicle, the next step is to take a test drive. For this there is a specially designed track to simulate the route to be taken. After short practice to see your skills, you start with this amazing adventure. DAY 03 SAN JOSE – CAFE BRITT

Then we continue with the first “Coffee tour” in Costa Rica where you can go through the steps of this golden grain, from the plant to the cup and learn what distinguishes a truly gourmet coffee. In addition, you will discover how the unique microclimates of Costa Rica and their combination with the fertile lands provide the ideal conditions to grow the best coffee beans. In addition, you can take a tour of the factory store where you will be able to savor exquisite chocolates, as well as gourmet coffees. DAY 04 SAN JOSÉ – RAFTING ON THE PACUARE RIVER – ARENAL

The departure of this excursion is early in the morning from your hotel, we will transfer you in a comfortable bus to our Operations Center to enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast and donning your rafting gear, we’ll drive to our private rafting spot on the banks of the Pacuare River. Here we check and adjust all necessary gear for a proper fit, give you a safety talk about rafting, and educate you on the basics of paddling. From here, you will launch your raft and begin paddling 19 miles into the heart of one of Costa Rica’s most impressive primary rainforests. You’ll pass through densely vegetated humid forest gorges, see cascading waterfalls, relax in serene pools, and experience rapids. You will enjoy an afternoon full of adrenaline in the largest rapids in the Pacuare: Upper and Lower Huacas, Cimarrón, Dos Montañas and more. You will then have a short drive back to the Operations Center where you will get ready to enjoy a delicious lunch, hot showers, optional drinks and a convenient souvenir shop. DAY 05 ARENAL – CANYONING

We pick you up at your hotel and take you on an exciting 4×4 drive, through rural streets, to our first ranch. We place the equipment and you will receive the safety and rappelling talk. Next we have a short hike on a beautiful trail in the middle of the rain forest, to the first waterfall where you will have the first rappel down the canyon! You will find 5 rappels that vary in height from 13 meters to 55 meters. Our Monkey Drop canopy is approx. 25m long. After rappelling down the first waterfall we climb up the side of the canyon wall, 10 m. up a short path. Then you do the Monkey Drop, which is a canopy up to the middle of the canyon and from there you go down a 25m cable to the bottom of the canyon again. It continues on short trails between waterfalls and cascades through the canyon. The experience is like being in a rainforest of a National Park! Finally, you will take another short hike through the canyon to the second ranch, where you will meet the 4×4 vehicles that will take you back to our offices on the outskirts of La Fortuna for a delicious Costa Rican-style lunch with the magnificent view of the Arenal Volcano. Here you will find lobbies, towels and hot showers. You can also stroll through the tropical organic gardens, bird watching, tropical plants and flowers everywhere. DAY 06 ARENAL – PEDAL BOARD & HIKE TO THE ARENAL & BALDÍ VOLCANO

After receiving instructions from our guide, we will board the pedal board. It is incredibly stable and secure! You just need the strength of his legs to navigate. The guide will instruct and facilitate a short practice lap and we will be ready to enjoy the calm waters of Lake Arenal. We will go to a strategically located point along the shore of the lake to enjoy the panoramic view of the majestic Arenal Volcano. Once there, in addition to the natural history of the region, the guide will share a little history of the lake, while we relax and share a tropical fruit snack. And why not, take a dip in the lake. After a well-deserved rest, we will return to the starting point and enjoy our navigation on Lake Arenal again. In the afternoon you have the excursion through the trails of the Arenal Volcano National Park, we will enter the tropical forest and areas that were once devastated by the fury of the volcano. During the walk it is possible to observe a great variety of flora and fauna typical of the area, as well as places of great interest such as impact craters, until reaching the “Lava Flows of 1992”, a large accumulation of solidified volcanic material expelled from the crater of this cone-shaped colossus in a period of great activity during that year. On clear days you will have a magnificent view of the imposing Arenal colossus, the Arenal lagoon, the Tilarán mountain range and Cerro Chato. The naturalist guide will provide you with valuable and interesting information about the main characteristics of this volcano, active since 1968, and many important details of everything that can be seen during the trail. DAY 07 ARENAL – MONTEVERDE

This day you will travel to the mountainous area of ​​Monteverde, which has gained international renown as one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the tropics. The transfer will be done through the car-boat-car system which consists of land transportation to Lake Arenal, river transportation through the lake and land travel to Monteverde; on the way you will enjoy the landscapes. DAY 08 MONTEVERDE – CLOUD FOREST – HANGING BRIDGES AND CABLE CAR

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is the largest of these protected areas, with more than 10,415 hectares. Here we can find more than 500 species of orchids at the ends of the huge trees, while lianas, ferns, mosses and lichens fill the rest of the space. The Monteverde cloud forest is home to more than 130 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, including the precious Quetzal, 30 species of hummingbirds, 5,000 species of moths, and 3,000 species of plants. It is certainly a paradise for the true nature lover. Return to the hotel to then do the excursion of hanging bridges, cable car and zip lines: The hanging bridges in Monteverde that combines trails and suspension bridges, with lengths of up to 300 meters and heights that exceed the forest canopy. The tour allows us to appreciate the richness and diversity of flora and fauna in the area. Our next activity is the cable car that goes up to the Continental Division and one of the highest mountains in the Monteverde area, it runs a total of 800 meters from one point to another, with a duration of 15 minutes and with the possibility of making stops. DAY 09 MONTEVERDE – SAN JOSE

Transfer from the mountainous area to the capital San José, to spend the last night in the capital where you can do your last minute shopping, visit places of interest or just rest. Accommodation in San Jose.

Breakfast and at the scheduled time transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of our services.
