DAY 01 MOSCOW

In the afternoon transfer to the railway station for the night train to Kazan (planned train N0024M, 23:08-10:45 or similar).

 

DAY 02 KAZAN

Breakfast on your own. Arrival in Kazan, city of the Russian Federation on the banks of the Volga River, capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. The visit begins with the panoramic tour during which you can enjoy the beauty of the Kazan Kremlin built by the order of Ivan the Terrible on the ruins of the castle of the Khans. In 2000, the Kazan Kremlin was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It encompasses such monuments as the Annunciation Cathedral (1561-1562) and the leaning Soyembika Tower, named after the last queen of Kazan and considered the symbol of the city. Also the guide will show you the Qol-Sarif mosque, the Freedom Square, cathedrals and Orthodox churches and the Palace of the President of Tatarstan. Lunch in the restaurant of Tatar cuisine. Transfer to the hotel for accommodation. Free afternoon.

 

DAY 03 KAZAN

Breakfast at the hotel. Hotel exit. Full day tour of Sviyazhsk Island. The history of the city began on May 24, 1551, when Ivan the Terrible decided to build a wooden fortress on the island. After only four weeks. Sviyazhsk became a support base for Russian troops in the war against the Kazan Khanate. The island has historical and cultural monuments, such as the Assumption of the Virgin Monastery, Sviyayhski Cathedral, John the Baptist Monastery which has the Trinity Church on its territory – the only remaining wooden building of Sviyazhsk. Lunch. Transfer to the train station for the night train to Yekaterinburg (the scheduled train N0378, 08:08 p.m. to 12:22 p.m. or similar).

 

DAY 04 EKATERINBURG

Breakfast on your own. Arrival in Yekaterinburg. It is a major city in the central part of the Russian Federation situated on the eastern side of the Ural Mountains which are considered a natural border between Europe and Asia. The city was founded on November 7, 1723 by Vasily Tatischev and its name refers to Saint Catherine, for the wife of Tsar Peter the Great. Yekaterinburg became the industrial center of the country. After the Russian Revolution, on July 17, 1918, Tsar Nicholas II, his wife Alexandra and their children, Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, Anastasia, and heir to the Russian throne Alexis were executed by the Bolsheviks at the Ipatiev House, in the vicinity of this city. Lunch at the local restaurant (Russian cuisine). Hotel moving and lodging.

 

DAY 05 EKATERINBURG

Breakfast at the hotel. Hotel exit. Continuation of the visit of Yekaterinburg with lunch visiting the geological museum where you can see the largest collection of meteorites in the Urals, including from the Moon and Mars; “Ganina Yama” the abandoned mine where the remains of the Russian imperial family were hidden after the assassination; Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center, panoramic view from the Vyssotsky building. Free time to buy snacks and drinks for the overnight train to Krasnoyarsk (planned train N0056, 21:41-08:45 or similar).

 

DAY 06 TRAIN

Day on board the train. Breakfast and lunch on your own.

 

DAY 07 KRASNOYARSK

Breakfast on your own. Arrival in Krasnoyarsk in the morning. We start with a visit to the Stolby Nature Reserve. The road is about 3 km and we have the possibility to enjoy panoramic views and guide stories about the nature reserve, which is a pride of Krasnoyarsk. Picnic lunch or at the local restaurant. In the afternoon, continue along the forest road to the observation point called “Zar Pez”. Then we will make a stop at the pier in Divnogorsk and near the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric station, which is the second largest in Russia. Hotel moving and lodging.

 

DAY 08 KRASNOYARSK

Breakfast at the hotel. Hotel exit. Panoramic tour of the city of Krasnoyarsk including Mira square with an exceptional view of the Yenissey river, monument to Andrew Dubenskoy, Karaulnaya hill from where you can see the whole city. We will also visit the chapel of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa and walk through the old streets, before we transfer you to the train station to continue the journey towards Irkutsk (planned train N0002, 13:20-07:40 or similar) . Lunch on your own.

 

DAY 09 IRKUTSK

Breakfast on your own. Arrival in Irkutsk. Panoramic tour of the city during which you can see the historic center, monument to the discoverers of Siberia, Church of the Apparition of the Virgin, the main street of Irkutsk, monument to Alexander III, walk along the embankment of the Angara River. Lunch. After lunch, visit the tourist neighborhood where the wooden houses are located. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation and free afternoon.

 

DAY 10 IRKUTSK

Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Listvianka village which is located on the shores of Lake Baikal about 70 km from Irkutsk. On the way, visit the museum of wooden architecture (which is outdoors). Arrival in Listvyanka and lunch (Baikal fish). Panoramic tour of the town during which you can see Piedra del Chamán, the place where the Angará River is born; chairlift to lookout point; Lake Baikal Museum; souvenir and fish market. Return to Irkutsk and accommodation.

 

DAY 11 IRKUTSK

Breakfast buffet. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport and end of our services.
